West Village

The century that transformed New York is still deeply ingrained in the West Village—also known as Greenwich Village or, simply, the Village. The city’s carefully organized grid is left to its own devices here, yielding to alleys paved with rustic cobblestones, remnants of seamen’s hotels, handcrafted bricks and double-hung windows.

The West Village has a strong architectural identity, defined by its brownstone mansions and domestic character.
